Can you tell I like Spanish food?? Lol.  I had fun at Burrito Loco in the West Villiage! It's a chill spot, not too fancy and family friendly.

Virtual Supermarket Shopping

Supermarket shopping has just gotten easier, well for Koreans anyway.  According to this video, Koreans are the second most hardworking people in the world. Tesco, a mega supermarket chain, developed a virtual store in Seoul subway stations.  Shoppers can scan the items that they want with their smartphones and build an online shopping cart, then make the purchase.  The items will be delivered to their homes.
Here's more details of exactly how this process works:

That's interesting.  Will this work in NYC subways??  I know I'd be mad if I'm rushing to my destination and there's a crowd of people doing grocery shopping in my way. No, No, NOOO.

The World's Weirdest Restaurants

Food & Wine listed the World's Weirdest Restaurants.  Here goes:

Taipei, Taiwan: A380 In-Flight Kitchen

This Taipei spot replicates the in-flight experience with an interior designed to look like an airplane cabin with servers dressed like flight attendants who wheel around food and beverage carts.

Volterra, Italy: Forteza Medicea Restaurant

In Italy one of the toughest restaurants to get into is this oddly situated one, set inside a prison and staffed almost entirely by inmates (don't worry, the cutlery is plastic). One reason for the waits of up to two months is that it's hugely popular; the other is that every diner needs to be screened by Rome's Ministry of Justice.

Taipei, Taiwan: Modern Toilet

The original toilet-themed restaurant in Taipei has been so wildly successful that a dozen branches have opened across Taiwan. At all of them, diners are seated on standard-sized toilets and eat out of miniature ones. Drinks, though, are served in tiny urinals.

Kissimmee, Florida: Medieval Times

This restaurant chain with nine locations across the U.S. and Canada takes theme dining to epically grand proportions. All restaurants resemble castles, host jousting tournaments, and follow dining etiquette from the 11th century (no silverware). The Kissimmee, Florida outpost is even surrounded by a moat.

Singapore: Clinic

At this Singaporean hospital-themed restaurant and club, the rooms are pill-shaped, and the seating is on golden wheelchairs and metal hospital beds that have been converted into banquettes.

Tokyo: Christon Cafe

Stained glass windows, Virgin Mary statues and paintings of Jesus Christ fill this irreverent Tokyo spot inspired by the Catholic Church. Diners listen to organ music while eating izakaya (Japanese small plates) and ordering off a coffin-shaped beverage list.

Tokyo: Neko JaLaLa

The tiny apartments and abundance of pet-restricted buildings in Tokyo have given rise to numerous cat cafés across the city. At Neko JaLaLa, visitors can choose from a simple coffee and tea menu and pet the eight freely roaming cats.

My favorite has got to be the Modern Toilet of course!
I'll take a urine on the rocks lol...oh and shaken, not stirred ;)

Baked Tilapia w/ Potatoes and Cheese

I used boxed potatoes and an oven fry mix to get a flaky crust on the tilapia.

Start with seasoned tilapia either over night or a couple of hours.  Seasoning is optional, the oven fry has seasoning in it.
Pre-heat oven to 425 or 450.
Dip the fish into either water, milk or beaten eggs.  I used egg whites.
Then dip them into the oven fry mix, then place into a pan with a little oil in it.

Seasoned Tilapia, Egg Whites, Oven Fry mix

Potatoes:
Combine 2 cups of hot water, 1/2 cup milk, 2 tablespoons of butter, cheese mix (comes in box) and potatoes in a sauce pan and bring to a boil.  I did 2 boxes so I doubled this.  All these instructions are on the box of course :). Let simmer on low for about 15 min.  Place in a baking pan then put in the oven until golden brown.

Can't forget the vegetables.  I did zucchini and carrots with some garlic and onions.

OMG this was soooooo good!
YUMMMMMMM!

El Cocotero- Venezuelan Cuisine

El Cocotero is the cutest!  I absolutely loved it here.  It's very small but has a very warm and inviting ambiance.  The waitors are so nice and the food is MMM MMM GOOD!  We went in a large group and they were very accommodating.  I can't wait to go back.
Thanks to my girls for hooking me up with the photos! :)

I think this was a mix of passion fruit and mango with rum :/.  I personally (others will agree) think that the rum was very light lol.  I couldn't taste it at all.  Las chicas locas ordered their drinks with an extra shot of rum. WEPA!

Tostones & Yucca
I know the lighting is terrible :(, it gets a little better from here...

Camarones Cocotero- Sauteed shrimp in cilantro pesto, tostones (plaintain), salad

Rice with black beans
I love rice and beans!! Can't get enough.

Chivo en Coco- Stewed young goat in coconut,  red and green pepper sauce w/ plantains over rice
Bistec Encebollado- Sauteed skirt steak w/ onions, yucca, mashed potatoes and salad
3 Leches- Three milk cake
I had a BLAST! Food was amazing and our waitor was very entertaining.

Cornerstone

This is a cute little spot in Fort Greene, Brooklyn with 2 bars and outdoor seating.  I couldn't wait for the weather to warm up to come back here :).  Cornerstone was once a vegetarian spot called Red Bamboo and still has a variety of vegetarian dishes to choose from.  They also have brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, which I will attempt to do this summer.
This is a nice date spot or a girlfriends hangout.

Backdeck Mojito- Long Island Iced Tea & Mojito Fusion
Surprisingly, this has become my drink of choice because I'm not a fan of Long Island Iced Teas but the Mojito gives it a nice taste.

Coconut Shrimp
I was sooooo excited because there was pieces of mango on here! :)

Grilled Shrimp and Grits (with cheddar cheese)
